Thorndyke Rd. MP 4.71 Culvert Replacement
County Project No. 18020580
Notice is hereby given that the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, State of Washington, will receive sealed bids until 9:30 a.m. on February 28, 2022 March 7, 2022 at the Office of the County Commissioners, basement level of the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson Street, P.O. Box 1220, Port Townsend, Washington, 98368, for construction of the Thorndyke Road MP 4.71 Culvert Replacement, County Project No. 18020580. Sealed bids will be opened and read publicly at 10:30 a.m. 11:15 a.m., or shortly thereafter, on the same day in the Jefferson County Commissioners Chambers, basement level of the Jefferson County Courthouse. NOTE: No In-Person Attendance Allowed per Jefferson County RESOLUTION No. 45-21. See notice below for other ways to attend.
This contract provides for the improvement of Thorndyke Road by replacing the culvert at Thorndyke Road MP 4.71 in Jefferson County near Port Ludlow, Washington. Work includes the removal of the existing culverts, installation and removal of a temporary traffic bypass, installation of a new buried bridge, structural earth walls, HMA wearing surface, guardrail, reconstruction of stream channel and installation of large woody debris, and other work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications. The Engineers Estimate is $1,656,400.
Bids shall be submitted in accordance with the plans and specifications on file at the Department of Public Works, 623 Sheridan Street, Port Townsend, Washington, where copies may be obtained by prospective bidders. Hard copies and/or electronic copies may also be obtained by emailing or by calling (360) 385-9160.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a surety bond, postal money order, cash, cashiers check or certified check payable to the Treasurer of Jefferson County in the sum of five (5%) percent of the bid amount, to be forfeited to Jefferson County by the successful bidder if he/she fails to enter into a contract and file an acceptable surety bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price within ten (10) days of the award. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to accept the bid deemed most advantageous to Jefferson County, and to waive all informalities in the bidding.
The Jefferson County Public Works in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252.42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
