SUBMITTING PUBLIC COMMENT TO COUNTY COMMISSIONERS BY EMAIL

At the beginning of regular County Commissioners’ meetings (9:00 AM the first 4 Mondays of each month except on holidays), the Commissioners routinely allow up to thirty minutes for people to address public comments to the Commissioners, for up to three minutes per person.


Commissioner meetings are open for people to attend in person, and meetings are also videoed and livestreamed for viewing remotely. As an accommodation to reduce citizen-to-citizen exposure if an outbreak of Coronavirus occurs locally, people are encouraged to watch the Commissioner meetings by video instead of attending in person. Meetings still remain open for in-person attendance as well. To see live or recorded videos, go to www.co.jefferson.wa.us and click on “Videos of Meetings” on the lower left side of the screen.


During this potential outbreak, citizens can also submit public comments from home to be read aloud to the Commissioners during the meeting’s public comment period, by submitting their comments using a dedicated email address: PublicComments@co.jefferson.wa.us


Public comments using the special email address received before the 9:00 AM start of each meeting will be read aloud to the Commissioners by staff during the public comment period, for up to three minutes per person. People can make only one submittal for public comment at any one Commissioner meeting.


In addition to making public comments at Commissioner meetings, people are always welcome to contact their Commissioners at any time, either by mail, using Commissioner email addresses, or by phone.
