Jefferson County issues permits for oversize vehicles. If you plan to drive an overweight vehicle across a county bridge, contact the Engineering Division at 360-385-9160 to discuss your vehicle and route.

There are two options for oversize vehicles:

Oversize Vehicle Annual Permit: $69 (2018), $71 (2019)

This permit can be used once or throughout the year. Jefferson County does not have a one day option. This permit may be issued for a vehicle more than 8.5' wide, but not exceeding 12' wide, and 14' high. This permit also allows nighttime operation. 

Oversize Vehicle Special Permit: $109 (2018), $112 (2019)

May be issued for a vehicle exceeding 12' wide, but not more than 16' wide or 14' high. For a vehicle exceeding 14' high, a specific route must be proposed. The permit may authorize you one or more trips. For a vehicle that exceeds 12' wide or 14' 6" high, the permit is valid for daytime hours only. The permit may specify minimum/maximum speeds, routes, times and frequency to ensure traffic safety.

Permits need to be filled out and returned to the Road Maintenance Office with payment. We accept cash or check. We are not able to accept any card transactions at this time.
