Nurse-Family Partnership

Pregnant with your first baby? A lot will change, but you've got this! Especially if you have a free personal nurse!

What is Nurse-Family Partnership?

Nurse-Family Partnership is free for people who are pregnant with their first baby. When you enroll you will be connected to a registered nurse who will provide the support, advice, and information you need to have a healthy pregnancy, a healthy baby, and to become a great parent.

How will I meet with my nurse?

You and your nurse will decide how, where, and when to meet. We are pleased to be able to offer in-person visits outdoors, at home or in the office. We are also able to meet by phone, video-conferencing or by a combination of ways. Your nurse will review all visit safety guidelines so that you, your family and JCPH Staff can be as safe as possible. If health recommendations around the pandemic change, it may become necessary to modify how we meet.

How much does it cost?

Nurse-Family Partnership is free to eligible and interested people.

Your nurse will support you to:
  • Have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.
  • Become the best parent you can be.
  • Learn and practice things that make you more confident as a parent, like breastfeeding, nutrition, child development, safe-sleep techniques, and much more.
  • Get referrals for healthcare, childcare, job training, and other support services available in your community.
  • Continue your education, develop job skills or follow your dreams for the future.
