Family Health Services

Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) offers a number of programs to support pregnant people and families with young children. These programs include the WIC supplemental nutrition program, Nurse Family Partnership, Parents As Teachers, Maternity Support Services, and Infant Case Management.

Our Mission


The mission of Family Health Services is to offer health education and support to all Jefferson County pregnant people and families with young children as they build a secure foundation for a lifetime of health, learning and community contribution.

A team of committed public health nurses, public health educators, social workers, lactation professionals, and registered dieticians works with families to support the realization of their goals for healthy pregnancies, healthy babies, and healthy children. Services, support, and connection to relevant local resources may be provided through, virtual, office, and/or home visits.

  • To support and guide families by building on their strengths in order to create a safe, healthy, and hopeful future for their children.
  • To collaborate with community partners in our shared goal of improving health, preventing adverse childhood experiences, and creating a seamless continuum of services.
  • To provide high quality services through community assessment, commitment to best practices, professional continuing education, and program evaluation.
