The County Clerk is an elected position created by the Washington State Constitution, Article XI Section 5. The Clerk is, by virtue of the Constitution Article IV section 26, the ex-officio Clerk of Superior Court.
The goal of the Clerk's Office is to protect the integrity and accuracy of the court records of Jefferson County Superior Court while serving the public and legal community in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
In addition to retaining and providing access to the official record of cases in Superior Court, the Clerk summons the Jury, administers the Pay or Appear Program for fines in criminal cases, and offers the service of a Courthouse Facilitator for unrepresented parties in family law matters. You are welcome to view public case documents Monday through Friday 8:30 to 4:30, in the Clerk's Office at no charge. Any type of payment may be made online, by mail (by money order or cashier's check for criminal fines), or in person. Case documents may be filed in person, by mail, electronically, or by FAX. Refer to the Local Court Rules for details, and to print the necessary FAX forms.
Jury questions can be directed to the Jury Manager in District Court at 360-385-9131.
