The update process for the Jefferson County/City of Port Townsend Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan is current underway! The Mitigation Plan is an important document that outlines the significant hazards we face on the Olympic Peninsula as well as mitigation strategies and planning actions we can take to reduce harm and vulnerability. 

The plan is updated on a five-year cycle. The previous plan, updated in 2016 and renewed in 2017 can be found here: bit.ly/jeffcohazmit

What's next: we're requesting feedback from the community: what mitigation projects are important to you? What do you want to see done in Jefferson County to reduce risk and potential harm in the face of hazards, both natural and man-made? After creating a Hazard Vulnerability Analysis, which identified a snapshot view of the relative risk of various hazards, we are requesting the general public to submit ideas and suggestion for mitigation projects at the follow link:

The survey will be open until February 14th, and is open to anyone and everyone. You are welcome to submit as many projects as you would like.
