JEFFERSON COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION TERM EXPIRATIONS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Jefferson County Planning Commission has three expiring positions, one in District #1, one in District #2, and one in District #3. All vacancies have terms that begin in March 2021 and expire in March 2025. District #1 includes the Port Townsend area. District #2 includes eastern Discovery Bay, Tri-Area, Marrowstone Island, northern Oak Bay, and south along Center Road to Highway 104. District #3 extends from southern Oak Bay to South County and the West End. A district map is available online at the website given below.
The Planning Commission assists the Department of Community Development and cooperatively prepares recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. The group provides a forum for public review of land use and planning projects such as the Comprehensive Plan, zoning designations, policies, and regulations that guide development activities around the county. The group does not review project-specific permits.
Meetings are typically held the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 5:30 pm. Currently video meetings are the chosen meeting platform until the COVID-19 public health emergency is declared over or there is a state directive allowing in-person meeting to resume.
