High water washed away fill material under the Tower Creek Bridge, exposing the bridge pilings and potentially undermining the road

 


 

Riprap was placed in front of the bridge abutment to support the bridge and protect the pilings.

 

 

Sheet pile (sections of steel that interlock to form a wall) were installed behind the bridge abutment to support the bridge piles and hold the roadway approach in place.
