The next Jefferson County Conservation Futures Citizen Oversight Committee is scheduled for Monday, May 7 from 3:00PM – 6:00PM in the library of the Tri Area Community Center at 10 West Valley Road in Chimacum. Agenda: Rank the following three projects and develop a funding recommendation for the Board of County Commissioners.
 
1.  Boulton Farm - conservation easement, Snow Creek drainage - $69,000 Sponsor: Jefferson Land Trust

Primary goal: Conserve 146 acres of prime agricultural land and riparian habitat of Andrews Creek.

2.  L. Brown Trust II Property - fee simple acquisition, Snow Creek drainage - $26,900 Sponsor: Jefferson Land Trust

Primary goal: Acquire and protect 15.5 acres of critical salmon habitat.

3.  Tarboo Forest Conservation Project – conservation easement, Tarboo Creek drainage - $260,000 Sponsor: Jefferson Land Trust

Primary goal: Sustainable forestry and habitat conservation on 236 acres of forestland.
