The assessor's land use code is not the zoning for the parcel. The land use code is assigned by the assessor's office for assessment purposes and reflects current use rather than any indication of what is allowable on the parcel. Zoning must be determined by viewing a map of the parcel. A parcel may consist of multiple lots under the same ownership. These lots may or may not be contiguous. Therefore a parcel may have more than one zoning type or current land use even though there is only one record in the assessor's database.
