Jefferson County Noxious Weed Control Board is looking for volunteers!
Noxious weeds are a major ecological threat and have a severe detrimental effect on the economy. Controlling these weeds greatly supports your local natural areas (forests, meadows, or watersheds), the accompanying wildlife (salmon, deer, or bees), and the local economy (farmers, orchards, or forestry).

The Jefferson County Noxious Weed Control Board has an increased budget and staff this year and aims to play a much more impactful role in noxious weed management from here on out. One of our main goals is to set up a large volunteer base which we could call upon whenever high priority infestations cannot be controlled otherwise.

If you are interested in signing up to be on our volunteer list and receive notifications for weed control events please contact the Weed Board Coordinator Joost Besijn by email at noxiousweeds@co.jefferson.wa.us or call (360) 379-5610 ext. 205.

Jefferson County Noxious Weed Control Board is looking for board members!
The JCNWCBs mission is to educate and inform the public on methods of controlling noxious weeds and revegetating areas to maintain healthy ecosystems in Jefferson County. This summer we have hired on a full time coordinator and support staff to bring in fresh ideas to benefit the county. We have several exciting new projects starting up and are looking for enthusiastic people to fill two of our board member vacancies. To be eligible as a board member, you need 10 signatures of support from your district and should be able to commit to four board meetings annually, plus the occasional special meeting. We are looking for board members to represent the Brinnon/Quilcene district and the West End/Olympic region.

If interested, please contact the county coordinator, Joost Besijn, in person at the WSU Extension Office, by email NoxiousWeeds@co.jefferson.wa.us, or by phone at (360) 379-5610 ext. 205
