Licensing - Required for City and County

Pet License Application

The Port Townsend and Jefferson County Ordinance requires that all dogs that reside in Jefferson County be licensed.
EVERY dog in the city of Port Townsend, and Jefferson County must obtain and display a Jefferson County canine license at the age of 6 months.  Failure to provide a license for you canine, and keep it current, may result in a misdemeanor fine up to $114.00.
Licenses can be purchased at JCAS.  Or download the license form and mail it in.  License must be renewed every two years.

• Animal Control will call if your lost dog comes to the shelter.
• Enables Animal Control to protect your neighborhood from dangerous animals and investigate animal bites.
• Helps pay for the housing of homeless animals.

Dog Licensing Fee - 2 year license

Replace lost tag $5.00

Any person owning or having control of five (5) or more adult dogs must obtain a kennel license from JCAS.

Cat Licensing Fee - 2 year license

A cat license is optional, however a wise choice to protect your pet.
